"Nutmeg Cottage", a delightful 17th Century thatched cottage, situated in the Dorset village of Okeford Fitzpaine, offers an ideal base for walkers and ramblers to explore the countryside. Only six miles from the Georgian town of Blandford Forum and three miles from Sturminster Newton this is an ideal location for a holiday offering peace and tranquility. The Dorset coast is only 25 miles and such places as Lulworth Cove, Sandbanks, Swanage, Studland and Bournemouth are within easy reach. Salisbury, Poole, Dorchester, Sherborne and Shaftesbury are also close by. A local village shop/post office and pub (serving meals) is within 200 yds and the area is well served with very popular Inns and restaurants.

Self contained No Smoking accommodation for two people is available in the adjoining annex with separate entrance. The facility comprises of a double bedroom fitted with an en-suite shower room, lounge and kitchenette equipped with cooker, fridge and microwave. Bed linen and towels included. TV & DVD player in lounge & bedroom. Off road parking.

Introduction

Our self-catering facility is an annex on the side of our 350 year old thatched cottage. The information provided is for your convenience but should you require any further details please feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing you.

 
Pre-Arrival

Our website gives a brief indication of the facilities offered.
Bookings / enquiries can be made via email or phone.
The nearest bus stop is within 200 metres from the facility (limited local service).
The nearest railway station is Gillingham (approx 15 miles).
We can arrange for any groceries etc to be available on arrival.

 
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

There is off road graveled car parking to the side of the facility (10 meters from the entrance).
The entrance to the unit is via a porch which has one step down 12cm high (4.5inches ) into the lounge area. Maximum width, outer door = 75cm (29 inches), inner door 83cm (32 inhes). 
PIR Night lighting is located in the parking area.  

 
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

The entrance is via the porch with direct entrance in to the lounge area. 
The outer door is 75cm (29in) wide and the inner is 83cm (32in) wide.
The inner step is 12cm (4.5in) deep.
The facility is NON SMOKING
The facility is not suitable for pets.

The facility is on the ground floor.

Fire assessments have been carried out and there are detailed instructions in the information pack provided in the lounge.
Smoke detectors are fitted in the kitchen and lounge areas.
Use of house phone in an emergency.
Information pack is provided in the lounge detailing all local facilities / amenities.
